History of the distillery
The Benriach distillery was founded in 1898 by John Duff and is located near the town of Elgin in the heart of Speyside. The name “Benriach” translates as “the mottled hill”. Like many Scottish distilleries, Benriach has had a chequered history with phases of closure and reopening. It remained closed for a particularly long time in the first half of the 20th century. In recent decades, Benriach has experienced a renaissance under different owners and gained recognition for its innovative whiskies.

Craigellachie Distillery

GlenAllachie Distillery
GlenAllachie is a Scottish whisky distillery located in the Speyside region, an area known worldwide for its large number of whisky distilleries. The distillery was founded in 1967 by Mackinlay McPherson, a company that specialised in trading whisky and other spirits. Originally, GlenAllachie was used to complement Mackinlay McPherson's blended whiskies, but over time the distillery developed into a brand in its own right.
GlenAllachie was acquired by the French company Pernod Ricard in 1985, but remained relatively in the background until 2017.
